high school math teachers?

We posted 2 math openings for our charter school in Oakland - 1 middle school and 1 high school. We've received dozens of apps for the middle school position, but have yet to have a single QUALIFIED applicant for the high school position. So... if you happen to know of a certified math teacher who got got a pink slip from their district last month pm me!

FYI for those reading this not from the bay area - Arnold's education $$ cuts mean teacher layoffs here so "last hired = first fired" no matter how great a teacher they may be...

a quick question, with possibly a very long answer, but what are people doing about the US government completely destroying the United States? basically I want to know if people will go quietly into the night or are people going to take over the streets and shut the system down and bring these criminals to justice? billions of dollars for banks, war, drug companies and cut backs for education ... Americans haven't become docile over the years have they ... like frogs about to be boiled

Most Americans seem to be to interested in Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears and the like to really notice the mess - just like the politicos (doesn't matter the side, right or left) want... I'd say many of those are applying what they read in "Manufacturing Consent," and "Mein Kampf."

So to answer your question: No. Bush and his cronies will escape justice.

I think lots of politicos talk about wanting to improve the educational system, but in reality, the last thing they want is a public that can think. If that happened, they'd never get re-elected. So somehow even though everybody's for better education, there's always a reason to vote against it.
